All users (and staff) of the Linac should review this list prior to
a run to be sure that all needed equipment and services are ready.

How much beam on target is required? Does the COLTRIMS collimator need adjustment? Linac operators
Will prestripping (between 45º magnets) or poststripping (after the Linac 90º magnet) be needed? Is there a sufficient supply of foils? Al Rankin
Are there enough vacuum pumps on the beamline for the experiment? Do all the pumps and gauges work? Mike Wells
Are there sufficient beam diagnostics (Faraday cups, quartzes, scanners, etc) and are they in good working order? Al Rankin
Are the beamline quads and steerers in place and working? Al Rankin
Are cleanup magnets needed? Are they working? Al Rankin
Have the Linac analyzing magnet and the appropriate switching magnet been switched into the power supplies? Linac operators
Is the user familiar with the signal patch panel and the diagnostic cabling for the beamline? Kevin Carnes
Are there special electrical power needs for the experiment? Bob Krause
Are there enough 4-jaw slits on the beamline and do the users know their location and zeroes? Mike Wells
Does the user know how to tune the beam once past the Linac 90º magnet? In-house collaborators
Is the Linac ready to run? Vince Needham
Is the Tandem ready to run (with good dewpoint and pressure for >6 MV operation)? Bob Krause
Is the appropriate ion source ready? Bob Krause
Are hookups to chilled water available and is the chiller functional? Bob Krause
Do the users have sufficient electronics, detectors, power supplies and preamps? In-house collaboration/
research group
Are the data acquisition computers ready? Kevin Carnes
Are specialty gases required, and have the needed regulators and/or safety requirements been checked? Charles Fehrenbach
