(Note: With our change in emphasis from ion-atom to photon-atom collisions, the linac has been retired. This gallery and other descriptions remain here for posterity.)
Our Tandem Van de Graaff, injects ions into our superconducting booster linear accelerator (linac). The linac is a radio-frequency accelerator, and by proper selection of the RF phases, can either accelerate or decelerate the beam. This set of photos was taken in September 2008.
