Generation of XUV supercontinuum and single attosecond pulses by half-cycle polarization gating

An ellipticity varying pulse was made with the linear portion less than half optical cycle. Supercontinuum XUV and single attosecond pulse have been obtained by using this pulse to drive high-order harmonic generation.
