Kansas Light Source

There are many projects underway in our laser light source laboratory, which are not merely scientifically exciting, but visually stunning, too. Shown here is the Kansas Light Source as a whole, and details of two facilities. The hollow-core fiber assembly generates a supercontinuum of light from a laser pulse, which is useful to a broad range of experiments. The high-harmonic generation (HHG) apparatus seeks to create ultra-short x-ray pulses.
