From the fall of 2011 through the end of spring 2012, the James R. Macdonald Lab has been remodeling. Our various laser-atom studies have displaced some of our old particle accelerators, and have grown beyond the space we originally allotted for them.
Once the magneto-optical trap (MOT) gear was out, we could strip that area in preparation for new construction. Notably, an old temporary wall that divided the space into experiment and office spaces was removed.
