From the fall of 2011 through the end of spring 2012, the James R. Macdonald Lab has been remodeling. Our various laser-atom studies have displaced some of our old particle accelerators, and have grown beyond the space we originally allotted for them.
The New Year saw the High Intensity Tunable Source (HITS) begin initial operations. Chambers were in place, and an array of large optics tables appeared. Bugs were still being worked out of the HVAC into February.
