"Ralph Hunt was a useful citizen, as the records abundantly prove. He served long as a town surveyor,
and as an overseer; and during the reoccu-pation by the Dutch, held the office of schepen, or magistrate.
He died early in 1677, leaving sons Ralph, Edward, John, and Samuel, and daughters Ann and Mary -
the former then the wife of Theophilus Phillips."
