Settled in Norfolk Co. See Annals of Forty # 8 p. 50, "Pioneer Sketches of Long Point Settlement", p.243;
Grant Smith & Jannis Rogers, Long Point Settlers Journal, Vol 4 No. 4, Oct 1997.
Reputedly part of 1787 party, but not on return. Pioneer Sketches states 1778- both wrong.
[Willard Tottle claims 1778- email 2 Jun 2001. Othneil, Silas, John & 11 other families incl. John Kelly b. 1748 made up party.]
Settled originally in Grimsby area near brothers, 1796; before moving to Norfolk Co. in mid 1798.
Land Petition 25 Jun 1796- claims arrived a few days earlier with wife & 9 children. Nathaniel Pettit
knew & recommended. Granted 200 acres , Lot 24 Con III
On Lot 24 Con V Charlotteville Twp., Norfolk Co. ca 1800 where better wood for barrell making.
Will dated 20 Feb 1813 mentions wife Elizabeth; children Andrew, Garrett, Samuel, Rachel Boughner,
Abraham; gson Joseph, son of John deceased
