"The earliest known ancestor of John Strong was his grandfather, George Stronge of Chardstock,
Dorset (3 mi. S. of Chard)... He died 1635. Will dated 20 Nov 1627, proved 13 Feb 1635/6 (PCC 15 Pile).
In his will he names his children and some of his grandchildren. A haouse called the "Strong house"
has recently been found in Chardstock, which is believed to have been built by George Strong."
