Invited speakers may still submit their synopses.
Abstracts for Atto-09
Participants are invited to submit abstracts on any of the conference topics. All of the accepted contributed abstracts will be presented in the afternoon poster sessions on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (July 30, 31 and August 1). Details of the submission guidelines can be found below.
We have allocated ample time for poster sessions, from 13:40 to 18:10 each of the three afternoons. This will offer the participants time for in-depth discussions.
Contributors will be notified of the acceptance of their poster and the session it is scheduled for 4-6 weeks before the meeting.
The abstract deadline for brief oral presentations was 24:00 CDT, Friday, 15 May 2009; we continue to consider traditional poster submissions.
Invited & Overview Talks
Invited speakers and overview presenters may submit abstracts of their talks using our Invited Talk submission form.
Invited Oral Poster Presentations:
The Local Committee will select about one third of the submitted abstracts for short Invited Oral talks. These talks will allow the presenters to introduce their poster, but is NOT a substitute for the poster. The poster sessions will still be the major forum for discussion of the presenters' work. Some of these talks will be 15 minutes each, but most will be 10 minutes each. At least two parallel sessions will be held each afternoon.
Selection for oral presentations will be based on the submitted abstract alone. Only abstracts with the "Also consider for invited oral presentation" box checked that were submitted before the deadline of 24:00 CDT, Friday, 15 May, will be considered. The 15-minute talks will be given during the afternoon of July 29, and the 10-minute talks will be presented the same day the poster is presented.
Contributors whose submissions have been selected for an oral presentation will be notified 4-6 weeks before the conference. Instructions for the talk will be included in the notification.
Abstract Guidelines:
Abstracts must be in English, may not exceed a single page, may contain figures and references, and must be submitted in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format. The pdf file size may not exceed 5 MB. Abstracts not conforming to these rules or non-pdf abstracts will not be considered.
Atto-09 specific template documents for the recommended word processing software exist for LaTeX, Microsoft Word 97-2003 and Microsoft Word 2007. (The example graphic is also available in eps and jpeg formats.) We strongly encourage the use of these templates to insure uniformity of style and to facilitate automatic document handling. The Local Committee may request that any abstract not conforming to these templates be resubmitted using one of them.
Instructions are included in each template and are also available as a pdf file to give an example of what your final abstract should look like. Please note that both the LaTeX and MS Word templates are set up to match each other as closely as possible and to be Atto-09 compliant. Therefore, do not make changes or modifications to the page layout or paragraph styles. Note that you cannot submit an MS Word or LaTeX document directly. You must convert it to Acrobat format before submission.
All accepted abstracts will be posted to the conference website on Monday, 06 July 2009.
