"Elder John Stronge was a Tanner. He was born about 1610, in Chard, Somerset, England. He
died April 14, 1699, in Northampton, Massachusetts. He married before 1634, for his 1st
wife, Margery Deane, daughter of William Deane. She died about 1635. He married about
1635, for his 2nd wife, Abigail Ford..."

"Elder John Strong - B. circa 1610 Chard, Somerset, England, D. 14 Apr. 1699 in
Northampton, MA, where he is buried. He m. (1) about 1632 in England, Margery Deane, dau.
of William Deane. She died with an infant about 1635... It is possible he came first in 1630
on the "Mary & John". He returned soon after to marry Margery Deane and they came in 1635
on the "Hopewell" with a son and small child. His wife and child died soon after landing."
