"Ebenezer Smith (Richard, Richard), b. 20 Feb 1712, [probably o.s.], d. Aug 1747, m. 29 Oct 1734,
in Smithtown, by the Rev. Ebenezer Prime, to Anna Smith (66), b. 14 Apr 1717, d. 25 Jan 1782,
daughter of Job and Dorothy (Woodhull) Smith...The family birth records had the entry, - "Ebenezer
Smith Sun of Richard Smith was borne ye twentieth day of February about 2 o'clock in the afternoone
In the year of our Lord 1712." The will of Ebenezer Smith, dated 25 Jly 1747, proved 7 Jan 1747/8,
leaves to his son Richard the homestead on the east side of the Nissequogue, and to his son Phineas
about 35 acres on the west side of the river, and to his daughters, Temperance, Anna, and Hannah,
each £100 when 21. His widow, Anna, married (2) Zephaniah Platt, as second wife."
