Our long-time Tandem engineer, Bob Krause, is soon to retire. Since 2005, we have been using an unusual beam tube arrangement in the Tandem for our "picopulse" experiments. It's time to change things back to normal while we still have Bob's wisdom and experience to rely on.
Accordingly, on the morning of 26 September 2012, all the able-bodied students and staff convened inside the Tandem to make the tube swap. All seems to have gone well. For much greater detail, see the companion gallery with Bob's own photo-survey of the Tandem from the days leading up to the swap.
