"Atto" is our newest laser system, acquired from Light Conversion in April 2024. It is a robust industrial-level CEP-stabilized Yb:KGW laser system with an average power of 20W and pulse duration of 170 fs. The laser repetition rate is tunable, and we mainly use the 10 kHz output with 2mJ pulse energy. The laser pulses are post-compressed to a duration of sub-4 fs using cascaded single-pass cells. After the post compression, we obtain 1.4-mJ, sub-4-fs laser pulses with a CEP stabilization of <200 mrad standard deviation for 24 hours, which is suitable for the proposed CEP stabilized pump-probe experiments. The major part of the CEP-stabilized light beam will be used to drive a HHG process to generate isolated attosecond light pulses, and the minor part can serve as the pump pulse in the proposed attosecond transient absorption spectroscopy or as the dressing field, e.g. in the proposed angle-resolved streaking spectroscopy.
The specifications of Atto are as follows:
- Repetition rate: variable but primarily used at 10 kHz.
- Center wavelength: 900 nm
- Pulse duration: 3.7 fs
- Pulse energy: 1.4 mJ
- Optional uncompressed output: 2 mJ at 170 fs
- CEP stability: 200 mrad RMS single-shot stability over 24 hours
